Kea is an illustrator with a bachelor degree of Fine Arts from Massey University, 2003. Since graduation she has worked as graphic designer, working on internal publications and communications. She is currently a freelance pet portraiture artist whilst also developing her larger Sweater Cat body of work. She despises AI and does not want to talk about it.

Kea created her Everyday Witch comic while homeschooling her child in the 2020 Covid Lock down and has been developing it since, launching it on her instagram and later her patreon. She has thoughts about developing it further.
